I will bring you up to date:

I will bring you up to date:

The official start date was May 10th. This is what the building looked like when we arrived after being told in the Pre-Construction meeting that the local Church members were interested in the vinyl siding.

The major site work consists of the building pad, new parking lot, detention basin, future building pad and future parking lot. 95% of these are are to their final grade.

There are a considerable amount of site utilities to install. The fire line and upgraded gas meter have been completed. The storm and roof drains are 95% complete. The electric service will be upgraded and the sanitary sewer  will be installed within the next 30 days.

Micropiles have been installed. This was a major part of the project. The entire foundation of the addition is essentially up on 'stilts' being supported by 61 micropiles that extend 10' into the bedrock. You can watch a video of this installation by clicking here. Micropiles were installed due to the entire existing site being built up on shot rock. This was a part of the job that demanded a considerable amount of time and energy but didn't produce much for the passerby's to look at. With this behind us we can now focus on pouring the slab and begin framing.

The addition will have grade beams as opposed to footings which will be supported by the micropiles. The grade beams are 98% complete and will be poured either this Saturday or next Monday.

Much work has taken place in the interior of the existing building. The font is dug and is being prepped for concrete. Walls have been demolished to allow for the hallways to the addition. Carpet has been pulled up. Bathroom has been demolished and is being prepped for its new finishes. Chair rail has been removed. Ceiling tile has been removed. Plugs and switches have been replaced. Cabinets have been demolished. Low voltage has been installed in the existing in preparation for the alarm system.
